Colours and Materials
I have always loved colour, and it was a natural influence on our new collection, designed to be colourful, playful, and to make you smile.
Being English but having lived in Asia for most of my adult life, I named each colour after something that holds personal significance. 'Canggu Yellow' is inspired by the surf break our children grew up on. 'Sambal Red' is a nod to the fiery condiment found on every Indonesian table. 'Plum Red' recalls the regal colours of China and my decade in Hong Kong. 'British Blue' bridges my two worlds. 'Peppercorn Pink' is for Cape Town, where our daughters were born, and for the game farm in the Karoo where we spent so many joyful days. It takes its name from our favourite pepper tree there.
Our Balinese artisans have a remarkable instinct for colour, and we offer something few others can: a shade mixed especially for you, matched to your own interior.
While lacquer and rattan are at the heart of the collection, the workshops of our parent company, iBal Designs, work across a far wider palette of materials, from eggshell, marine shell and faux shagreen to terrazzo, stone, metal and resin, so each piece can be made in the material that suits your space.
For colour creation and bespoke commissions, we would be delighted to hear from you.
